Time-Honored Chinese Recipes Designed for Sharing & Progressive Dining
From handmade dumplings to scratch made oyster sauces and broths, we celebrate China’s rich food heritage.
With the advent of the New Year comes some exciting news for our local dining community in Boca: Red Pine,
a new Chinese restaurant concept, offering an artfully prepared and traditional menu in a beautiful, elegant restaurant. But first, a little background.
Since becoming a resident of Boca Raton, I have been committed to developing establishments that were created with the community’s enjoyment in mind. My journey started with purchasing the Wyndham Hotel, which became a meeting place for many community activities, and then added Farmer’s Table restaurant which became the local gathering place for family and friends, where many community celebrations have been held. Later, I opened Farmer’s Table in North Palm Beach which became a dining hub for golf enthusiasts and locals alike. Now, a new ice hockey rink, Boca Ice, is soon becoming the hot spot for family fun and exercise.
Ever since the closure of Uncle Tai’s restaurant which had served the Boca community for over 30 years, Boca has been vocal about the need for another Chinese restaurant. Mayor Scott Singer and guests at Farmer’s Table continuously expressed the sentiment that, “Boca needs its own Chinese restaurant.”
And with that request in mind, over three years ago, the R & D process for Red Pine began.
Red Pine, a name which symbolizes longevity, health and wisdom in Chinese tradition, will open March 29 at One Town Center in Boca Raton.
You are welcome to drop in then first come first-serve. Reservations will begin to be taken on March 13,
with our official opening night planned for March 29, 2023.
Red Pine’s menu will feature traditional and innovative Chinese cuisine created under the guidance of Farmer’s Table Culinary Director, Michael Schenk, and our partners at King’s County Imperial, the famed Chinese restaurant in Brooklyn, NY. Our specialty is using Chinese recipes featuring time-honored techniques and recipes which have been passed down through the generations.
Our ingredients will be the best we can source with the ethos of purity and cooked with traditional woks and steamers. Our philosophy for each dish is to keep it as clean and simple as possible, and we concentrate on broth-blanching when it will complement the dish, and never any corn starch. We use traditional techniques, with respect and integrity for all our ingredients.
The menu will feature much-beloved Chinese favorites as Dan Dan Noodle, Crabmeat Fried Rice, Cantonese Maine Lobster, Mapo Tofu, Mu Shu Duck Confit, plus specially handmade dumplings, wontons, several soups and broths, varied vegetarian and gluten-free dishes and extensive and creative cocktail and mocktail offerings, wine and beer varieties.
Red Pine is an elegant, artistically-designed open space, with comfortable seating both inside and out on our beautiful patio, rain or shine. I see Red Pine becoming a place for intimate dining as well as friends and family celebrations. Dishes are plentiful and meant to be shared. Of course, in true Chinese food tradition, take-out and catering will soon be available.
I hope you will come to love Red Pine as much as we have enjoyed creating it for you. We would like it to be the Chinese restaurant that Boca has been longing for these past few years, and you will be our guest for many years to come.
Take a look at our menu here on our website and let us know if there are dishes you would like to see on the menu in the future. I look forward to your feedback at anytime.
Many thanks for taking the time to read this, and I am looking forward to welcoming you at Red Pine soon.
