We share a love for all children, regardless of where they were born, and we are passionate about our mission. Collectively, we have 46 children, grandchildren, and little ones in Heaven and have gone through 18 adoption processes! We are also fortunate to have many wonderful volunteers that help us meet our goals.
The mission of Open Hearts for Orphans is focused on providing resources in three areas: medical intervention for orphaned and abandoned children, meeting the basic needs of orphaned and abandoned children, and breaking down the financial barriers to adoption by providing “Say Yes” grants to families in the adoption process. In our medical intervention program, we help fund heart and other types of surgeries for orphans in need and provide necessary medical tools/supplies to properly monitor medically fragile children. In our Orphan Care (basic needs) program, we provide food, clothing, beds & bedding, and even home construction for vulnerable families (Uganda) and we have helped countless vulnerable children and families in life-saving and life-changing ways. Through our “Say Yes” adoption grant program, we have helped families in the U.S. adopt children with special needs from 20 countries, helping to break down significant financial barriers in the adoption process. In addition, we promote advocacy and awareness to the orphan crisis and adoption in general through our ARISE program, sharing Adoption Resources, Information, Stories, and Encouragement.
